Mapping how societies govern artificial intelligence.

David García-García — PhD candidate in Law and Political Science (UB) and predoctoral FPI research fellow at IBEI.

I am a PhD candidate in Law and Political Science at the University of Barcelona and a predoctoral FPI research fellow at IBEI.

My work examines how artificial intelligence is governed across political and institutional settings, with a focus on the actors, ideas, and policy processes that shape AI governance.

I combine comparative public policy, agenda-setting research, and computational methods to study AI policy portfolios, the role of expertise in AI governance, and the use of language models in empirical political science.

I am a member of the Quality of Democracy (Q-Dem) research group and participate in the ADSOM, KNOWPOLIS, and SUPA research projects.
